Cultural Impact Assessment: The Proposed Farrington Highway Widening Project
On behalf of WSP USA, Inc., ASM Affiliates is preparing a Cultural Impact Assessment to inform an HRS, Chapter 343 Environmental Assessment being prepared for the Proposed Farrington Highway Widening project. The project is in Nānākuli, Lualualei Ahupuaʻa, Waiʻanae District, Island of Oʻahu. The proposed project seeks to widen a 1.4-mile stretch of Farrington Highway between Ulehawa Stream and Nānākuli Avenue. It is expected widening may impact the O.R.&L. right-of-way as well as informal beach parking.
ASM is seeking kamaʻāina familiar with the area’s cultural resources, customs, and practices. We also seek input regarding strategies to prevent or mitigate impacts on culturally valued resources or traditional customary practices. If you know of such information, contact Keely Toledo, ktoledo@asmaffiliates.com, (808) 766-4996.
