
November 1797 – Kalaninui kua Liholiho i ke kapu ʻIolani was born in Hilo, Hawaiʻi during the Hawaiian month of Hanaiaʻeleʻele, 1797.
His father was Kamehameha I and his mother was the high chiefess Keōpūolani. Liholiho was Hawaiʻi’s second king, reigning from 1819 to 1824. In 1823, he and his wife, Kamāmalu, traveled to London. While there, they contracted measles and died.
